BEST—Building Engineering & Science Talent at Dow

I should be going to Midland, MI next month to attend this symposium. I will report from there. I love it when corporate America spends money to empower underrepresented PhD's and give them insight into the world of industry!

Start with The Physics Today Buyer's Guide

Have you seen the Buyer's Guide published by Physics Today, the flagship magazine for the American Institute for Physics? Well, it's not just for physicists, as some of you already know. In many ways it trumps Cole-Parmer, Fisher and VWR because you are not limited by the agreements these retailers have with a few selected equipment makers. For example, if you are looking for a vacuum pump, you are directed to the contact information for a number of companies that actually manufacture the product itself and related items. You may then look to Fisher to make your order or contact the company directly. But it may save you time to start here with the Buyer's Guide first.
