I arrived today to the North American Membrane Society (NAMS) Conference in the heart of Disney World, Orlando, FL. I think this is supposed to test your devotion to the society - go to the sessions or Epcot, Animal Kingdom or a workshop...VERY TEMPTING!
In any case, it is easier to attend the sessions when you don't have your family with you...or when you are a stranger to the community. Case in point - I did not do my graduate work in membranes, and the membrane community is fairly small, so people really know each other. So I really feel like I stick out. That's why I've got to go, meet and greet. That's my mission -
GO, MEET, AND GREET!
